Hi everyone
Hoping for a bit of advice , picked up my new to me Range Rover TDV8 2008 model on Saturday and have a few issues 😂
On reading through some posts I noticed a few people with the same fault.
My Range Rover is in off road height and seems to be locked ,in the 4x4 info screen it changes its mind as to wether it’s in extended or standard but it most def is in extended at front only .
On screen messages on lcd display under speedo and rev are as follows ,
Check tail light , suspension fault ,and when moving it is saying not to go above 30 mph !

What I have done so far is remove the silencer brass part from the compresser in the boot area and tried again to level but no joy ,Still stuck in extended mode at front only and with suspension fault message .

A day before I bought the car it’s had 2 front tyres and two CV joints or gators at the front , I have had a few clear obstruction messages also .
I also ran the self test function to check bty voltages and get 12v when ignition on and 13v when started and driving.
I haven’t got a code reader yet to check the codes by obd2 and the in car test is not logging any codes.
I was going to replace bty with 110 Ah version , I’ve also had water in fuel message but not all the time .
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Check Tail Light

LED / later rear lights fitted ? - may need to turn off hot and cold monitoring (iiDTool or similar needed) .

More likely to be the whole light unit, with new drilled holes for the fixings

quick update on my problem I stripped the compresser housing again and one of the connectors was not fully engaged infact it came apart in my hand 😂 clicked it in started her up without the brass sintered thing I had taken out , the compresser automatically vented rather loudly which in turn almost made me vent in my shorts 😂😂 all good so far with the suspension but still the check tail light message , I also checked the bty and it’s reading 14.3V with the meter at the terminals when running and 12 .3V when vehicle switched off ,

My next concern is the whistling which I am hoping is boost hoses , I don’t have any black smoke or any smoke at all just a noticeable whistle on boost from about 2000 revs , I’m going to research a bit on
Would it be the two top hoses that cause this whistle , it seems to me that it would be more likely from turbo as it alter with the revs I could be very wrong as I’m no expert

If the boost hoses were leaking enough to hear it would normally cause a fault and limp mode. I suspect you have the same problem as me...exhaust manifold(s) leaking due to snapped studs.  Cam

Ahh , is that terminal if not looked at straight away it’s started from a quite whistle and he matured into a decent whistle into my third day of ownership

I will have a search and see what’s all on here about it

If it is indeed the problem it's not terminal at all, it'll just be noisy. It's simply annoying as you want this engine to be nice and quiet. Cam

Telly Addict , thanks I’ve been nursing the car with anxiety and paranoia just incase it is the turbos or if the exhaust manifold cause the turbos to fail for whatever reason
It’s been suggested on my other post that it could be the intake manifold causing it with a hairline crack
