Personally I would look at running a cat5 cable to the other side of the house, possibly in the roof space?

Ironically the cable enters the house in the living room behind the TV then attaches to Modem before it then exits again out the wall and all around the walls/roof to my office where it enters again!

Also use a powerline in my house. Could stick an access point on the end if you want wireless. |

you can now use 200MPS over your electrical circuit and will cover up to 6KM of wiring and repeat your wifi ( 6KM is an average 6 bedroom property ) they work out of the box and you can lock the security down takes 2 mins from opening box to being up and running Far to many gone... |

Netgear make reliable units for home / home office use and work with all major router wifi units. Try to stick with later N series.
