Hi all, on my 2011 VSE the button that allows the rear heating controls to work comes on every time i start the car. On my 2007 VSE was the other way. I would prefer it worked the 2007 way. I have checked the owners handbook and the IID TOOL, can anyone help. First world problem i know  2015 4.4 AB

default seems to be 'on' whether you switch it off or not..

does it really bug you that much..

It sort of bugs me too. I can count on one hand the number of times peeps have travelled in the back of my car, so I’d like to know what it’s doing...is it just heat? If I have AC on full cold I assume rear will blow same, irrespective of button? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

It does bug me but when my 2007 was the other way i hoped there was an easy fix , something like holding it in for 5 seconds or the like.

Im a single dad so i have my daughters in the back every day for the school run but its a small niggle and as i said i do appreciate its a first world problem. 2015 4.4 AB

I found on mine (2011 spec, 4 zone a/c) that if I set the fan speed from the rear seat control to minimum, it doesn't come on.

If however I press auto it uses the rear vents too in order to heat the car up quicker.

On a different note, my aircon button has two leds on it, which I cant figure out what they are trying to tell me. Only once has it had both leds on at the same time. Too many toys, not enough time

Which one on here? It’s either for auto fan or auto air distribution on knob 7, or auto/always on/always off air recirculation on button 1.....I would imagine.

Re the rear ventilation button, do we know what it actually does? Does it just enable the climate controls in the back? Or just the hearer bit?

What are we actually turning on and off? Given the below, I recon it just enables the controls in the rear.

that button provides air flow to the rear and the rear knobs control the cold or warmth...

According to the manual, it is called the rear control isolation switch.

The switch illuminates when the rear controls are active. By default, the rear controls are isolated. Air flow should be supplied to the rear at all times. It should also be noted that the temperature set by the front occupants restricts the maximum level of air the rear passengers can select.

Agreed it is a bore to have to switch it off every time. I'm not aware of it being possible to programme it otherwise. I got used to it. Only Range Rovers since 1988
