Blanking kit arrived this morning and took less than an hour to fit it.. all went well with the encouragement from this thread and the instruction sent with the kit.

Only broke on clip which was replaced by a black cable tie.

I always use BP Ultimate so the soot wasnt as bad as some Ive seen.

Nevertheless, I am looking forward to cleaner engine out.

The last few warm days have seen my mpg go up to 27/28 for my work run which used to be 25ish and local short runs are now over 20 mpg so still happy Thumbs Up

I’m reading so many posts on EGR delete on this and other forums and the positives and negatives provide for some very confusing reading!
I’ve just ordered the kit for mine. I blanked my TD6 around 9 years ago and it still runs well so my only hope is the new one responds as well.
Mine sometimes doesn’t want to pull away like it has a massive turbo lag and I’m getting 15mpg average so let’s see if that improves

Ive not seen any improvement on mpg to be honest.. Im just happy that my oil will be soot free and engine will run cleaner over the time.

I blanked EGR in my Shogun previously and engine was much cleaner (oil remained brown)

If there is any mpg improvement then that will be a bonus Current:

I guess it’s worth doing on oil change at the same time then?

It would take a couple of oil changes to see the difference to be honest. You will start to see the difference. Current:

If people are worried about blanking EGR and an MOT tester seeing it could you not just "sandwich" the blanking plate at the one end of the pipe eith the pipe still in position so it appears normal. I have done this in the past on non LR vehicles. This way even if an MOT tester was trying to have a sneaky look under the engine cover it would be almost impossible to spot 2010 3.6TDV8 Stornoway Grey/ Black interior - gone

Another update I've now done over 1300 miles and still no problems
No lumpy tickover
On hard acceleration there's no smoke and there's very little lag when pulling off
I'll do a further update at the end of the month after I've been on the kielder safari as I know the FF will be running all day
And I'll check the mpg on the way there and back Thumbs Up

Just had my EGR blank kit arrive so will fit it this afternoon.

I went for this one as it actually looks like the existing EGR so if any over zealous MOT inspector ever pokes about under the bonnet it won’t stick out like a sore thumb.

My kit has arrived. Looks a mare of a job on the TDV8 engine.
I’ve also bought some Revive Turbo cleaner to do at the same time. Will post results

Just follow the instructions no rush and be careful not to drop anything down the holes
Just been out with new Bluetooth idd tool and I now have only 3 faults
1 air quality sensor on hvac
2 traffic message fault - common fault
3 instrument pack fault invalid data u0400-68(2f)
So not worried now
Thumbs Up
