Hi there, was wondering if anyone has experienced or could shed light on this.

Soon after i had the vehicle (22Oct) it went into restricted performance after hard acceleration up a hill at 60-70mph. a fault code reader showed: P244B, P004B, P00CF. Clearing the codes and everything resumed as normal.

When last at the dealers they couldnt replicate the fault and neither could I - until Christmas day some 3k miles later.

Again hardish acceleration upto 70pmh and Restricted performance came up, with P004B. clearing the code and again back to normal.

from that would it seem the vanes are not operating correctly due to DC motor issue? Cheers

It might be worth getting the turbo air change over valve checked.
I had exactly the same symptoms,i.e. Restricted Performance when I put my foot hard down to overtake slow moving traffic on the motorway.
Apparently the change over valve was modified to prevent it sticking .
There is a service bulletin detailing the fault and fix.
Mine was changed under warranty. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

Could it be slight degradation / split in one of the hoses from intercooler to inlet manifold? They're well known for failing (on 3.6 TDV8, anyway - can't see why it would be any different on a 4.4). The top two hoses are fairly easy to get at and inspect. My thinking being that a split might only open up under pressure, which would explain 3k trouble-free miles between problem.

still does it, hoses are good.

P00CF comes up now.

I had a similar issue last year whilst in France and it turned out to be a cracked inlet manifold. The French mechanic demonstrated it by standing on the accelerator whilst I held my hand over the manifold. Lots of air escaping from the split manifold. It appears the split only caused an issue when the car was on a long climb with the caravan on the back, I.e. Under load.

Did you ever get to the bottom of your "restricted performance' issue?

I have the same problem on my 2012 Westminster. Red warning, limp home mode and an oil patch on my driveway. Just took it in for diagnostics and the garage thinks its the EGR valve, but that doesn't explain the oil loss.

Would be good to hear what yours turned out to be and how they fixed it?

yes a combination of things.

leak between the two dpf sensors meaning it wouldnt pass the full boost air pressure test thing that they run on testbook(?)

plus the turbo drain mod was needed as oil was filling the dpf and combined with above giving incorrect soot level readings. Cheers
