Erg fault but no light

When I was having my car remapped, the technician pointed out, I had an error code for a faulty erg valve, but I have no warning light on the dash to alert me. Is this normal, do these faults only show up on a code reader?

Yes you really need a code reader to see what's going on.

Did you mean EGR ?

Post the code if the tech gave it to you. There is a very common EGR error code relating to a sensor.

. Cheers, Greg

Big Cry just wrote virtually a novel on My remapp experience, but when I submitted it, it's gone missing. I'll do it again sometime. I never got the error code from the remap.
