Nokia BT module

Hi all

Just picked up a 2005 Full Fat. The Bluetooth module was missing but wiring was there. Reading the service history, it had been removed due to being diagnosed as faulty. Fibres had a loop cap fitted.
I've got a replacement and plugged it in but just get the start up screen and flashing orange light.
Got red lights through the fibre.
Is there any way of checking to see if I have brought a faulty Nokia BT module before I return it?

Oh and can I replace the tuner module with a hybrid without any issues? Seen a couple fairly cheap.

Thanks all.

Follow up

Go at it all sorted.

The Nokia BT module I purchased was the upgraded one. The plug didn't fit properly and I was trying to plug it in up side down..
I removed the lever and it plugged straight in. Works perfect.

Yes use a 2010 FF module or a Disco 4 module, there is a handy guide to doing this on Disco3.co.uk that may have been cross posted on here by Wiggs.

Hi right just started looking at this - which two colour wires do you use from the original connector? On the wiggs post it’s a red one and a black one which don’t appear to exist? Current stable:
2006 BMW M6
2007 4.2 V8 S/C FF
Gone:

I'm researching doing this now too, I think that doc shows you 2 cables that you need to get yourself to bridge the gap between new bluetooth adaptor and old harness.

I found the info out from disco forum it’s a piece of cake I took the two pins out wrapped in electrical tape and used a hot glue gun to lock them in the new connector all works great.

Positive pin 16 negative with 33/34

The hardest thing is mounting it it’s balanced and gently cable tied currently. Current stable:

Nice one @Danwilderspin I'm going to purchase a new bluetooth module today and attempt it as soon as it arrives. Do you mind if I ask what model did you order and what did you pay for it?

Also, does this resolve the issue of having to pair your BT device every time you start up the car?
thanks!
