Failure after 15 years of use is a pretty good run.

I'd replace them. I've just had one blow rather spectacularly on a bush track here in Australia, necessitating an expensive recovery- it couldn't be driven out due to how steep the tracks were. I'm yet to determine the cause of failure, but after 15 years perishing of the rubber is to be expected; the recovery people tell me that the bag has come adrift from the top plate, and that both the bag and retaining ring just fell out when the rear of the car was lifted.

The rears are very cheap in comparison... I would change both the air springs and the rear shockers and have her new all round |

Shes probably only done 20-25k (miles) in the last 9 years I've owned her, so may be why they've lasted longer than expected? |

LR rears are quite pricey, but Bearmach's are £99 each and whilst I haven't had these parts from them (hopefully someone else can comment on quality) they've always been good when I've had other parts from them. Worth a look? |
