On a brighter note Mrs T has decided on an area at last and it is to be within 20 km of Sarlat and possibly a flat in either Arcachon or Frejus
Amazing how the female mind works - or doesn't Confused
And the FF performed impeccably and now at 177k time to change soon

Lovely place. I would try it in the summer to confirm it fits. Cool

Out of interest which route did you take coming back? John

Yes we have been in summer and it does get a tad busy - route back was one you suggested avoiding Paris
And speeding tickets up to 5 so far last one was in a 90 clocked at 98 they used 93 so done for 3kph

To be honest it is my own fault I haven't had any before and know where most of the static cameras are and of course they put the sign up about 3 to 400m before hand just didn't think they would follow up at least I know for next trip Smile

Points is my big concern - though have to admit that the camera costs seem like they're racking up pretty quickly for Sandy - I've always assumed 1 roadside fine @ €90 per year - but the cameras..... Shocked

France

My brother has just received his fine from when he came out on his motorbike last October. So it seems they do catch up with you eventually.

I'm all for cruise control now and just sit back and relax, got caught out here in my P38. Got away with a 45e fine and no points somehow. 2002 Range Rover TD6

If French resident and you still have a UK licence they can require you to change to a French one after an offence involving points. However, anecdotally, they don't always pursue that for one point. John

This last trip 225E so far - I have heard they are thinking about having a virtual licence for UK residents where points will be stored ??? seems like the are really going to have a go
I reckon I have another 3 or 4 from the last trip might have to pay attention in the future
