Test pulse flashing on LED headlights

Hi.
Just fitted LED plug and play headlights to my 04 L322. Whenever I start the car I get both Headlights flashing.. which then stop after 15 seconds or so.
I've remedied a similar issue with my LED caravan / trailer lights with a resistor box.
Tried a similar thing with the headies and didn't work.
50 Watt resistor connected between pos and neg (earth) .. to give the load to the system..

Doing it right??? Dunno.. worked for the trailers, just not up front.

Thanx for any assistance in advance Smile

Thanx Matt (RaveRover) Once you've driven a Range Rover, everything else seems 2nd rate.. Eeeek I'm trapped for life.

Yep, I'll post some..
They're not changeover aftermarket assemblies.. just plug and play led bulbs.

Isn’t this hot or cold checking of the bulbs, I can never remember which one Very Happy

It can be turned off with the IIDtool. ______________________________

Yep, if you have one turn it off with IID.

If you don't have one, first task is to get one!

I have Led bulbs in mine ( they are great). You have to fit both a load resistor and a relay to stop the flashing. The 2v test pulse won't be enough to trigger the relay, it will only switch on with a full 12v. I also have automatic white daytime running lights that switch to orange indicators that flow in the direction of the turn fitted inside the headlamps 2007 TDV8 VSE

Simply turn off the hot & cold monitoring in the CCF files... DO NOT use resistors as they create LOTS on heat and this is BAD! and even worse when the resistors burn out!!!

I just let mine flash, never worried about stopping them.

That's not uncommon, my main point was that it'll pay for itself in the long run, and I wouldn't faff about with other solutions. My advice would be let them flash for a few months while you save, and then turn it off at the flick of a switch

If the monitoring is turn off using the IID, then I guess you lose the functionality of the lamp test with its obvious safety and convenience factors?

Hi I also have this issue I retrofitted halos in my headlights and I get the same a flashing for about 5 seconds when ignition is turned on. Where about in the CCf is the option to disable the hot and cold function and can disabling this cause issues? Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 SDV8 SVO Stying Pack
