It will need coding but if you have VCDS you can do I yourself fairly quickly and easily. There are many people selling VCDS on eBay with the dongle but make sure you get the full version not the lite one.

You will enjoy changing the ABS sensor at the rear (not)

I was sorely tempted to cut the new one and splice on to the old one.....but Audi must have had a reason (not that I ever had problem with the connectors on the FFRR being right in the firing line) .
