Heavy steering / heated cooled seats

Hi everyone,

After giving up on my last RR I am now back in a 2010 Autobiography. (Ipanema sand with Navy/Parchment leather and ash burl wood)

The steering seems quite heavy in this one.

Fluid is very clean and up to the max cold marker. It is the correct cold climate fluid also.

If I use SDD to command the servotronic actuator to maximum I get beautifully light steering so I am assuming this could be a electrical / control gremlin?

My other fault is the drivers heated cooled seat works but doesn't seem to be as powerful/effective as the other 3 in the car.

Any suggestions welcomed.

Do u have a problem with one of your doors not unlocking? If so then it is linked to the BCM box under the pax seat (bcm=body control module). This affects the steering as well. I replaced mine on a 2004 petrol and fixed the steering and locking prob. May not apply to your year but worth a check.

Nope no locking problems with the doors. I think the signal might come from the instrument cluster on my model year.

Just thinking about this one again has anyone tried hooking the servotronic valve up to permanent 12v?

My 2 current goals with the car are to achieve the lightest possible steering and the softest possible suspension (need to recalibrate the CVDs but struggling without a IID tool)

I noticed in SDD there is an option for 'variable assist power steering curves pprogramming' but cannot access this currently as SDD complains about rhe battery voltage being lower than 12.5v.. this is with a charger connected!

Any insight welcomed

Hi Stan,

Yes i have, I don't believe i have an issue with the mechanicals as when i use sdd to command the servotronic actuator to full power the steering is virtually finger light.

This isn't permanent as it reverts when the laptop is unplugged or engine restarted.
