New L322 owner . Air suspension Woes.

Hi. I have today purchased a 2003 Tdv6 l322 which has been sat for app 12 months .
It has been looked after well in the past and had a new gear box fitted shortly before it was parked up.

I fitted a new battery and it fired up straight away.

No suspension movement at all & Inactive suspension warning on dash .

I could really do with some advice .

What is my first port of call to diagnose the suspension issue?

After battery change you need to reset the suspension. With engine running turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and then all the way to the right - the suspension will reset and the lights go out.

Plenty of information in the Wiki for all the things you are about to likely encounter! Current Fleet:-

Research and find a good local independent LR specialist who are tried and trusted. Search on here and on the sister forums especially the Disco 3/4 one. There is bound to be one or two near you Thumbs Up
As above, the Wiki area on here is a god send as is the "search" function....some folks are lazy and don't bother using either before posting (not you!) 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
New Defender D300 90 on order so "Rory" will be going to a new home....!

Thanks . There are a couple of good local specialists which I use where necessary. I like to do the majority of the mechanical work myself, unfortunately time pressures etc hinder progress , I’m sure this is the case for most people though.
I recently put my 110 dc on a new galv chassis and brought it up to a more purposeful specification.
The overfinch & evoque tend to go to the main dealers though , but I will hopefully get some time to take a look at the l322 , they are all pretty similar underneath.

Looking to just use it as a general hack & tow vehicle around and about the area and possibly for my son to learn to drive in , we’ll see how it goes , if it keeps raining like it is today I may yet trade it in for a boat .

Does the compressor run at all?

Can I also suggest you fill in your vehicle profile - I know it's in the first post but it makes it easier as the thread grows & for new threads. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

The compressor does not appear to work at all . I have reset with lock to lock and still message and no light on suspension switch . Fuse is good .
I may try to fire up the compressor separately, it has been sat for a while .

Any orange lights around the height selector ?

If none, then you have a hard fault, which will need diagnostics to clear it .

No lights on suspension switch at all .
I’ve booked it in for a scan with Richard at Trojan on Monday, at least
then I’ll know for sure .

So I took it took Trojan and they cleared all the faults and away it went again Smile .
I'd temporarily put my defender battery on as the original was super flat and needed a long old charge .
Unfortunately the defender battery did not have enough AH and over night the hard faults appeared again.

Original battery is now on a long charge and I will pop back again to get faults cleared again .

Suspension is up to normal weight and is staying there. Going to go for an mot next.

They are a big ole bus to drive. 2003 tdv6 vogue

You need to know what the hard faults are, there could be a problem ? .
