Question about in car telephone

There are buttons on the steering wheel and to the right of the TV screen for a phone, but no actual phone is installed.
Are these buttons standard fit or only fitted in conjunction with the handset?
All I have in the centre console under the lid is a big open space!

when you lift the centre console has it got this a pin connector

And if you check under here when lifted for any wiring

if so you will need one of these

which in turn will allow you to do this

Hope it helps Thumbs Up

haven't got that moulded section that holds a phone cradle - it's just a big flat open storage space.

I have a nokia 6230 as well. If I get the insert and the cradle, is the wiring already there for it? 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

Thanks for the help.

Just checked - there is wiring!

What would you consider reasonable for a cradle? There's a couple on ebay for around the £50 mark. I will also need to get the pan from somewhere- unfortunately, none on ebay. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

This is what I have at the moment (not my car- sample pic):

I've found this on a parts site:

But comparing it to yours, the middle section is missing, like it's a seperate part. Yours looks like one complete moulded section. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

I called a dealer today to enquire about the parts required. He told me that although the car has buttons for the phone on the steering wheel, and wiring in the centre console, I would be wasting my money buying the relevant parts as it will not work Neutral He reckons that the buttons etc were all fitted at the factory as a matter of course. Before he told me this, I asked him where the mic goes, but he didn't know.

Can anyone confirm that they have fitted this kit successfully? 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

Noddy

My car came with the full Nokia set up installed, unfortunately it was for a Nokia 6230 or the likes and I've got an N95 8GB which I use as my mp3 player aslo to save me carrying pnone and ipod. What I did was bought a cassette adapter and pluged the phone into it and had handsfree phone and mp3 through car stereo for a fiver!

Today however I removed the Nokia set up and installed a Parrot system, pretty good but not sure if it is £250 better than what I had
