Why can they not make the Leads

On battery chargers longer , I have one of those Halfords battery charger / conditioners and on trying to attach it to the Motorhome battery to leave on constant charge .

By the time i connect the leads to the battery then feed thru the bonnet and in through the drivers door there is no place to sit the battery charge on a level or even surface .

As the Leads are about 3 ft long .

Tried to see if i could open it up and add on my own leads but the battery charger seems to be soldered at certain points of the casing.

Don't know if it would still work okay if i cut into the actual leads and connected longer lengths of wire as the battery leads seem to be of the type of wire you get inside a domestic appliance plug ...... ====================================

Mick last week at the pressure wash place I was next in line behind a huge Fiat Ducato motorhome - I could see that the roof had several sets of PV solar panels on the roof, similar to the 3ft by 1ft panels on the sailing boat I sail on, these are permanently wired in panels through a voltage regulator/ control panel - have you though about going down that line and having a change over switch so you can recharge the domestic batteries too? 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Mick, is the charger this type?

If so, I have one connected to the Mini, the crocodile clips just plug on via spade connectors on the leads, if yours is the same, just make up another section of lead with a male spade at one end and a female at the other. That shuld do the trick. 2006 Mercedes CLS
