Just been out on the same trip as yesterday and same thing again: Regen started within 10 mins of being on the motorway and then stopped after a few minutes dropping from 22 to 19.4. I drove for a good long while afterwards and it never kicked in again. So drove back and it went up to 19.9. I a thinking the oil dilution is a poss cause of non-regen.
here are the readings.

interesting oil dilution info

JLR own bulletin :

https://www.docdroid.net/KUMbEu2/2017-07-j...pdf#page=2

Evoque Igenium angine probs

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic....;t=1700822

and FFRR owner:

"have a Jan 2017 new design Range Rover Vogue which had exactly the same dilution problem, it flagged up every 6,000 miles as service required, I took it back to the LR garage and LR have so far paid for several oil filter and oil changes but its not at all convenient. Up to this month LR have claimed driving style as a cause which cant be right. I have some history with this car as I have had a series of instrument related faults around the sat nav, DEF indicator, sensors and Radio which have meant it has been in a few times so both LR and the Garage are, possibly as a result, very helpful. I am not doing all short journeys and have so far done 30,000 miles since new. I finally cracked in June and said the car isn't fit for purpose and not what you expect from a vehicle costing £85k, the garage took it in this week and have raised a fault with LR, a lot of tests have just been done and LR advised that the oil sensor should be replaced, I wonder if that is the problem, it feels like a generic issue with the new engine design?"

All that JLR stuff does not relate to our engines is my understanding.
Good idea for oil change and smoke test Thumbs Up 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

The Oil Dilution is an inferred value.

It must just add up the hours use to calculate the value.

If you do a "Service Interval Reset" I would guess that it will go to zero.

Dr Rob,
Please will you make a note of your oil dilution reading before you do an oil change, then record it regularly (say once a month) noting miles driven on new oil until we get a feel for the dilution build -up rate.

Hope you don’t mind me asking, but I think we all need to know.

Cheers

Dolphin boy,
Have you found a clever way to take “screenshots “ on the move ??
Rolling with laughter
I am asking for my wife who is fed up with me insisting that she sits with my iPad on her knee every journey, taking screenshots whenever I say ....now...again....now ..etc...etc...

Dolphin you might want to read through the DPF testing section of the workshop manual.
It's pretty hardcore. I don't remember reading that oil dilution is a requirement for regen though I may have missed it.

Glad you're out of the soot danger zone.

Have you scanned for errors again?
. Cheers, Greg

Update

Just been for a test drive and now more probs than before!
So carried out a full oil change today with filter. No problems. Went for a test drive on motorway and car now refuses to do a regen at all!

Was pottering along at 65mph and “Restricted performance” pops up while engine is under no strain at all. Luckily it was just by the services so pulled off and checked fault codes .... nothing relevant except this

No codes relating to the restricted performance 😳. So switched off, cleared the other codes and on restarting no faults! This was the last live reading on my return. Notice the N/A on the particulate sensor measure. Does that mean the sensor has given up the ghost and needs replacing?

Oh yes, one other thing. Anyone know how to reset the oil dilution figure if does that go out on resetting the service schedule?

Dolphin your 'restricted' which clears on restart is consistent with split inlet hoses.

'restricted' or errors generally prohibit regeneration.
