I reckon you'll be safe enough taking my word for it! i must have lifted upwards of 400 RR's on my 2 poster ramp... More than half have had steps fitted...

can confirm that is a good jacking point just make sure you shut the steps off first. Apparently the car can sense it's at some weird articulation and disables the system, tho I just assume not risk it.

My trolley jack has a circular plate which covers the area marked in yellow & lifts it just fine.

The jacking point being that bit lower actually makes it easier to lift a car with deployable steps than without.

The standard equipment jack that comes with the car is well documented as being and I'd only use it if I absolutely had to.

So the SGS 2.5 ton trolley jack I have has a rubber pad. No slot for grip.

Is your trolley jack different?

I have exactly the same jack - works fine with the deployable steps

Not sure whether it would have the reach required without the step jacking point being lower.....

IMO throwing a bit of hardwood 2x4 between the jack and the car is better than just jacking on the puck, more stable/height increase/mitigates scratches/damage/disperses the load more evenly.

Well I guess some wood if you're worried about the height

The system shuts off with the terrain response sir... If you have it set to AUTO as most of us do, as soon as it senses a potential issue I.E. it thinks your driving in muddy ruts. It shuts off the steps so it doesn't damage them trying to deploy them against a bank...

The steps are made from plastic. And trolley jack does foul it and cuts off bits of plastic. So be warned.

If yours are made of plastic then they are non genuine! Probably Chinese I would guess? JLR step brackets are cast metal of some description! Certainly not plastic sir...

Surely they would snap off with a 240lb man stood on them?
