My Sept 2014 AB vs my father in laws June 2015 Vogue

My father in law and I have FFRR's , his is a low mileage ( 40k ) June 2015 Vogue and mine is a highish mileage (79k ) AB, they are both approved used and both the 4.4V8

I have a vagueish question, I don't drive my father in laws car very often but when I do it's so tight and firm in it's drving, it's hard to describe but it drives so nicely. On the other hand mine, in comparision, is no where near as tight a firm. Mine drives fine but it's night and day in comparision, even my girlfriend in the passenger seat could tell the differnce.

We've had the ARC ram bushes changed on mine ( I think ) but is there something super obvious that is different between the cars that would cause this or perhaos something worn on mine that would cause this effect ?

Actually they don't, they are both 22in but different styles

And he has the more common

If they are both 22's the brand shouldn't make too much difference, but it's possible - my wife can tell when I've switched from summer to winter continentals - both 22's

Try checking the pressures ?

I run mine at the lower number ( you know there is 4 people in the car or 27 people ), I wonder if they need more air then. I can try that Smile

Maybe just check what your FiL has his at ?

I guess it could be bushes or something else, but would start with the simple stuff.....

Scotland 

I have a 63 plate one, higher miles circa 85k and its tight as a drum. Suspension components are the normal places to start.

His car will have the improved EAS block with twin valves, the updated ARB complete with harmonic balance weights! etc etc...

Its been done on my 13MY and its night & day! Have a schmooze through my thread below... All the info is there Thumbs Up

Thanks all for your help

Tyre pressures were pretty much the same on both cars so I've ruled this out

Tyre wear is even so I don't think it's alignment

Craig, I couldn't find the specific details about the EAS block and ARB with harmonic balance weights, would you be kind enought to give me more details, this sounds like a good place to try , what are the costs ( I have warranty ) and what actually need to updated , also I have no clue what an EAS block or ARB are LOL

LOL @ the comment about my girlfriend, i like to live on the wild side

Mine has had the new ARC valve Block and balancer and new bushes all round and can't say I noticed THAT much difference in road holding etc. The only things that I noticed was that a) the awful front clunking noise had now finally been fixed but has been replaced by b) a god awful hydraulic hissing sound from under the car where the ARC block sits, when the car is at idle at traffic lights for example. Crying or Very sad

When I did notice a difference once was when I got a 6 month old courtesy AB while mine was in for repair, now that difference was chalk and cheese. Getting mine back felt like I was driving a jelly. When I spoke to the master Tech he said there had been significant suspension revisions between mine and a 2019 spec. Shocked
