And THIS is WHAT leaking ???

So - smell of diesel/ oil in cab last few weeks. Nothing major , but enough to notice.
Filled up washer bottler tonight and noticed this - no drips on the drive , so not a massive leak- but any ideas what or why ?

3.6 V8 2010.

Could be - I’m a bit concerned about the oil on it ,possible split in the hose meaning we are getting the oil smell in the cab I guess.
If it ever stops raining I’ll get underneath tomorrow... Welcome Rosie J - The Newer Kid on the Block

That looks like just below the shields, if it’s diesel then a common issue is the leak off pipe o rings on the injectors. I was convinced ours was oil until I cleaned it all up and realised it came back clear.

They will only leak when the engine is running, so if you pull on the drive and switch off straight away you’ll not notice the leak, simple check is to raise it into off road height and start the engine then check for drips after 5 minutes or so again if it’s diesel it’s fairly clean.

Here’s what our old ones looked like vs new, you can see a small split:

New ones fitted:

Here is a video of ours leaking, easy to check if you do decide it’s coming from behind the shields and take the shields off to check.

FBH Exhaust comes down behind your wheel arch covers and exists much lower than your picture.

If it’s oil, I have had to do the rocker cover gaskets ours leaked around the injectors, oil filled the injector holes until it saturated the sound deadening on the black shields and finally began to leak.

You can see the new seal here:

It was clearly coming up past the injectors:
