Wipers sticking

Why are my wiper arms sticking?
On way to Holmfirth last night, bit of light drizzle, wipers stuck, had to get out and force them back down, did it a couple of times.
Any ideas?
Cheers

I'm now in need of a new wiper motor, the only place I can seem to obtain one is local dealer, hence 200 squid, plus vat.
Any suggestion as to alternative supplier?
Preferably at a lower price!!
I bet Allegros had the same motor, for a few pence Whistle
Cheers
