Brembo brakes - will they fit?

I think I may have just wasted money on a pair of Brembo calipers from a 2008 TDV8. I wanted to fit them to my 2009 facelift but I’m told they won’t fit. Mine has the TRW calipers on.

Is this correct? 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

Correct, they will not fit

You need 4 pots from a Range Rover Sport, or any 6 pot calipers from an L320/405/494 Thumbs Up

I’m not an expert, never done any brake upgrades, but according to the thread below, which you may have read, it seems 4 pot and 6 pot Brembos have a different calliper bolt hole size, so are not easily interchangeable.

Perhaps you needed a 6 pot set from a later car?

Funny you should say that. They sent me a pair of Sport calipers by mistake. They are being swapped next week. I may well cancel the replacements and just send these back 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

I’m told the Sport calipers are the same as the L332 apart from the weights attached to them? In which chase, shouldn’t the 08 L322 ones fit or is there another difference?

The hold spacing on the L322 4 pots is smaller than the spacing on the 6 pots
The spacing of the non Brembo carriers on the facelift 2010MY is the same as the 6 pot Brembos, which is the same as that of the 4 pot Brembos fotted to the L320 Sport

As per last post, the mounting holes are spaced differently

What you HAVE received are L320 4 pots, which have the same spaced mounting holes as the TRW setup currently fitted to the car

What you were EXPECTING will only fit 02-09 models

The 4 pots you HAVE will fit, but the blocks may foul the wheel/hub

The blocks may need some slight modification to fit, or, swapped with the earlier style blocks

All that said, I'm not sure of the brake disc you would use. I know the D4/RRS uses the same disc between the TRW and 4 pot setup, I assume it would be the same with the L322. But, I've never fitted a set of 4 pots to a facelift car...

Send them back and get some 6 pots Thumbs Up

Even if they fit, they might not have the braking power equivalent to the standard brakes or the 6 pots. Not worth the risk to be honest- I’ll send them back 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

Is the hole spacing different as well as the hole diameter? I'm aware that the bolt diameter changed from 12mm to 16mm.

Thanks Mikey.

I had considered the unlikely option of replacing my 6-pots with 4-pots to allow 18" Compomotive or similar rims so its good to know that drilling out the holes in the L322 4-pots wont make them fit. If the Pirelli AT+ was available in the D5 255/60R19 size then I'd swap to 19" D4 rims, but unfortunately no decent 19" tyres for my use are available so I'll keep using 275/55R20 AT+.
