I was reading that the whole finance side of the car biz is shaky as people can’t/might not be able to pay. Furthermore once 50 percent is paid they can walk away and hand the keys back..
I’m not sure it makes a lot of sense to do that, but some might not have an option. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

The finance side of things props up the manufacturing output.
Falsely so in my observation; it's a tiny bit like the car version of sub-prime.

I'm not saying she not a good cleaner, and I'm not saying good luck to her,
only that PCP has been available to anyone willing to sign with a half a point of a credit rating.

He has to move his car off the drive when she comes to clean "to keep it nice"

What will happen next? Just look to the last dip. Credit will tighten up tighter than a boa constrictor.
Cars will get handed back or repo'd. Some houses too. Hope not. But might be.

Also, given that a litre of petrol is now £1.029p, Coal burners are about as popular as The Virus that is causing all this, maybe with a potential recession in the market coupled with slow demand and over supply in the market for fuel over the coming months, I think Petrol versions may well hold or increase in price.

Today I put down a deposit on a 69 plate pre-reg with delivery miles. List was £100k negotiated down £72k plus a decent PX deal. Delivery won't be for a few weeks until the dealer is allowed to operate on a limited basis like B&Q etc. are doing presently. More details once all the paperwork is in place. MY23 D350 HSE

A 4.4 SDV8 Vogue SE with some extras. I didn't see much point in paying £15k more for another AB as the difference, in terms of what I want/use, is minimal. MY23 D350 HSE

Fair point. We're thinking similar and looking at an Ewok in Jan for Mrs. BB, and thinking of just getting the petrol Dymanic and speccing it. Tony

It includes a finance deposit contribution but the finance can (and will) be settled soon after purchase. Just playing their game. I’d didn't set the rules. MY23 D350 HSE

DM - What model are you looking for? Let me know and I’ll have a look round.

I know of one 69-plate pre-reg 3.0 SDV6 Vogue with delivery miles being offered at £68,750 before negotiations and finance deals. Probably get that for around £65k - for a new FFRR!

Edited to add: I also know of a 69-plate pre-reg 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography with delivery miles that you could have with finance for £85,500 and c.£25k under list. MY23 D350 HSE

Hey Phil,

Where is that SDV8 based?

Just on a general look out for a good deal!

Whats the rough discount level across the range?

I was seeing barely 10% so is there a reason there's specific increases on specific models?

I heard the SDV6 and SDV8 are going to be replaced soon with the D300 and D350 inline 6 engines is there any truth in that?

Thanks

Hi DM,

I'll reveal all about my purchase once I have the paperwork, which should be today. Photo's, the lot.

When I bought my last RR a couple of years ago it was at the time the facelift version was being launched. LR incentivised its dealers to pre-reg the older model. The dealers then offered the pre-reg’s at a discount. I managed around £15k or 15% off list. For a short window there was a large number of these pre-reg RR’s available but they soon dried up.

I have discovered that for some reason (most probably to up quarterly sales figures) the same LR incentivisation scheme occurred in late 2019 and early 2020. However, on this occasion the number of pre-reg RR’s is much lower but because of COVID-19 the discounts being offered by the dealers are much higher.

It’s easy to spot the pre-reg’s just search for used RR’s with 100 miles or under. I have also found that once contacted that dealers will offer £3k-£4k finance deposits without much effort and its worth given them a nudge on the asking price too, plus any accessories that you want. That’s how I found mine.

As for the new engines, I haven’t seen anything yet but I love the SDV8 and its balance of economy versus its waftability 😊 MY23 D350 HSE
