A hand written note with date and signature saying where you are going and why is allowed.

I don't think it is appropriate to get into an argument about this, but Le Monde is a newspaper and included an embedded version to Scribd which is a copy and requires registration.

The link I provided is directly from the Interior ministry 👍

The FCO site is where it says that the UK is not included. https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/france

"On 16 March, the French Government announced that the EU would suspend travel between the EU and non-European countries for an initial period of 30 days from midday 17 March. The French Government confirmed that these restrictions will not apply to UK nationals. We will update our advice with details of any EU measures when confirmed." John

Awesome! That is the clearest part yet regarding whether the UK is included in the cross border travel ban or not. It really doesn't help when officials can't get the distinction between EU, Europe and Schengen correct Laughing

So that covers the 30 day EU lockdown, but possibly not the in-France 15 travel lockdown. I really hope the OP makes it Smile Don't forget to sell the movie rights Laughing

Just had a French Gov. text (a round robin) giving a reminder of the start of the restrictions and a link. Neutral John

Just got home - now I'm wondering what I was worried about.

Andorra/France border looked unmanned when I rolled through at 5:30

The autoroutes were free flowing, but far from empty - there appear to be a lot of people not realising they should be locked down....

Around Paris just after lunch without stopping, so clearer than usual by a margin, but still far from empty.

The only enforcement action I saw was after a toll booth cars were being pulled over - so I assume that was for a spot check as it was after the noon deadline.

No queues at the tunnel - the Flexi lounge was shut & it was drive through goodie bags only, but I was straight onto a train so no complaints at all.
