United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Zermatt Silver

I updated my data and added a couple of graphs with a log scale to show rate of change

Please stay safe everyone Thumbs Up

UK at least seem to be making some progress with our infection rate (although give the minuscule amount of testing the available data could be very wrong!)

Death rate as expected assuming 10+ days from taking action to seeing an impact

Spain infections still catching Italy up, unfortunately deaths will likely follow the same pattern

Looks like it will be bad in the USA in two weeks time

2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

Anyone else find the current news coverage lacking in respect of the situation in poorer countries?
Part of this is probably because they don't have the infrastructure to report numbers, but I suspect also its less shocking to hear of people dying in a poorer country due to an epidemic - its happened before....

For example, I hope India's lockdown works, but it could end up being a disaster - the pictures of 100'000's of people all crammed together leaving the big cities to go home to the country were not encouraging, ideal conditions for passing the infection on and spreading it all around the country...(and those daily wage workers who suddenly find themselves with no money and no food)

Similarly, many African nations are going to be hit hard, but there has been little coverage

As for the UK, lets hope people are sensible this weekend and stay home

I cant believe there are still people who would travel to the seaside, Lake District etc. for the weekend - the peak is yet to come .

A final thought - one of my friends is part of the management for a large hospital near London. They met this week to discuss the criteria for who would receive treatment and who would be left to their own devices.
10+ years in the NHS, he found it, unsurprisingly, a harrowing experience Big Cry

(and that's before they've even got to the stage of not being able to give people treatment which would otherwise likely save their lives....)

Stay safe everyone Thumbs Up 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

A Trap

Yesterday I had to go to the Pharmacy for my parents and then do the local shop which we do every two weeks now, I was stopped a total of 5 times by the Guardia Civil, each time the were polite but insists on evidence of were I was from and going, I was also check coming away from the pharmacy and shop that I did what I said I was doing. I had to show my parents social security cards (needed to collect prescriptions here), my shopping list and my residency card. I didn’t mind s they were polite and I understand the need. I did see a female office shout at a couple in car coming the other way for being out together (you are not allowed to have two pain a car and only allowed out by yourself for ANY reason), they were turned around and sent home, their registration was noted so if they repeat the offense they will get either a 600 euro fine or even a 30,000! Everyone else out was obeying the rules, gloves and masks on and big distance between cueing people etc.

This morning I walked the dogs up to the communal letter box wall at the top of the hill, the police just happens to be passing and turned around to follow me home, once I was through my gate they waved and drove off, I hadn’t broken the law as it was within 600m of home but they got the message over.

So even Corbyn in retirement from the labor party today has to obey the law.

Let’s see what happens in the UK this weekend and next- Netflix and world of Warcraft is obviously so hard to do, it’s easier to go out and enjoy the fresh air full of 🦠

Well the glimmer of hope is the Spainish daily death toll has dropped two days in a row.

Again I don’t mind the presence or policing tactic here, they are getting the message over and making a difference. Clear, Polite but firm and with consequence, just as you should do with children!

708 deaths in the UK, 809 in Spain, if it’s true the UK is 2 weeks behind Spain with this, it’s not looking good.

I think you are right, my own chart would seem to indicate that UK infection rate has tracked lower than Spain and is flattening off, but I suspect this is more down to the UK not actually having done much testing - the death rate chart shows a pretty straight line at the moment vs Spain which tracked higher but has showed signs of levelling off (which most up to date data supports)

Stay home everyone - the next two weeks are not going to be a good time to go to hospital in the UK 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

Yes, but this is an additional death reason to the normal tally, so it’s an additive not desolved in the same total number as before.

Males are something like 75% more likely to die than females from COVID19.

980 deaths yesterday in the UK. This will be a telling weekend.

Looks like the UK will follow Italy and Spain or worse if all the house and street parties etc keep on going.

The NHS needs proper support and funding post this crisis and proper management to make sure funds aren’t wasted.

The US, don’t seem to have a clue with mixed messages and lack of social distancing, if they don’t get a handle on it they will be in a real mess quickly.
