Cheers for that will order one you would of thought a car of this distinction would have had an easier way to stream music but I guess the design stage would have been several years earlier 🤔

Bought the TDV8 4.4 in early February from salvage yard , only went to the yard to look a a fiat 500 which was sold then I turned around to see the fatty and gave it a good look over then bought it
Was cat N so no marker on registration document, damage was light , front bumper and crash bar were both damaged could of repaired them but was easier to get replacements , had alternator fault also front cameras and parking sensors not working but this was due to the loom being severed on the impact, guess that’s why insurance wrote it off (could of been a can of worms) anyway took the front end of bumper, crash bar, slam panel ,radiator pack , after draining anti freeze and AC gas , followed by the fan , front end of sub frame to gain access to the inter cooler pipes etc , changed belts and idlers and alternator ( old alternator was not charging so the fatty would not run for long until everything shut down) ( also without taking the front end of the car of you would find changing the alternator impossible)so put the rad pack back in filled with antifreeze connected all the multi plugs and fired her up and all is good ,
Didn’t take many pictures but I have a few

I thought you could just buy a genuine 30 pin to lightening connector and use the iPod connector under the arm rest.

Thought that’s what it was for?

Yeh I guess that’s an option as well , the other suggested would be Bluetooth without plugging the phone in 🤔 1990 3.5 v8 defender

The cable adapter suggested by mjd would be a lot cheaper and would charge the phone at the same time. John

It's just that 30-pin iPod cables converted to lightening don't really work all that well if at all. Eg sometimes they don't even charge the phone

The Bovee's control track skip whatever your music source within your phone. It also allows for receiving calls.

They can also be had cheaper (sometimes they come up for sale here on fullfat) but try ebay too.

Do a search here plenty of discussion on this topic.

Bear in mind that it's 2011 technology so your phones have shot ahead in terms of software and also connectors but the car remains stuck in 2011.

. Cheers, Greg

A proper Apple made 30 pin to Lightning connector works fine on all counts when connected to the LR cable. Its what I use all the time.

I think the problem comes when people purchase the non-apple "clone" converters

Yeah, that’s why I put genuine in my post. I dare say others work, but it does seem a bit hit and miss.

I use CDs still. Only just got rid of the 8 track....

have you had to declare it to your insurer?
if so did the quote reflect it?

. Cheers, Greg
