I've done 2 of these now, both logging RP faults

One had a new actuator and loom, the other just the wiring loom

Both cars were actually from the same family, and they agreed to try it that way, for my curiosity more than anything, as well as potentially saving them the £465 + VAT for another actuator

Not heard back from them, so no idea of its needing a 2nd actuator, but no news is good news, yes?

I’m unsure how L/R think the link harness will stop the oil (not actually seen one to examine) - Mikey, as you’ve fitted two do they seem “special”?
In theory oil shouldn’t be able to get into the loom in the first place.

I may modify the link lead to include soldered joints covered with adhesive lined heat-shrink tubing in each cable. I know a rigid joint on a flexible cable in a vibration prone environment may be more prone to failure but cable is cheaper than a new turbo actuator.

No, just 3 cables with a connector at each end

Personally, I don't see how this modification will cure it, but one has to assume that JLR engineers have done the testing, and its a success

It’s a tsb so could be. Mine was dealt with as a recall rather than a warranty claim. Worth a call to your LR dealer and ask to book it in under the “recall“ number. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I will give it a try if not i will get the parts ready to be fitted when it is next serviced

Booked it in for next week with my local dealer, free of charge plus a free check round as they do which will probably write the vehicle off
