United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Zambezi Silver
thoughts ?

i am considering trading one of my classic cars for this.... what do you reckon? seems an ok price on the face of it and it would solve a couple of car fleet issues.....

dont know this type of RR but i guess the turbos shouldn't be an issue as its a 4.4?

@andyleeds.

looks like a really nice car and if you do your research and look at the wiki on things to look for by Baltic Blue, then you should be ok.

There is definitely room for manoeuvre on that price I reckon.

Ps what classic have you got? Pics?

That price is about right, prices have tumbled of late. 9 months ago I bought virtually the same car (86k) from Manheim auctions in Manchester for £14k out the door! Thought I’d done well at the time!
I would argue that a dealer cannot sell you a ‘trade only’ deal & therefore offer you no warranty.
I maybe wrong but worth googling, pretty sure he can’t do that.
Mate just bought an identical Westie out of Manheim auctions, paid £10,500 so there should be a little ‘give’ In his price.
Check the history, MOT history then if you like it, go for it! 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!

On first glance it looks deal of the century. One question: what’s the previous owners, what’s the paperwork?

There’s a lot of love for these 4.4 diesels. I don’t think any anecdotes from here about reliability or performance would be or should be enough to put you off. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

I spoke with the dealer for that one. They have the service history book, no receipts or invoices for work carried out etc. Looks a nice car though

I saw that car on AT, it came up on my search today. Looks nice, if it was closer to me I'd be tempted. Try a cheeky low offer, as has been said, the prices have been dropping the last couple of weeks. First time FFRR owner

It’s got no tow bar, which is a bit of a downer as I need one for aback box, I did fit one myself on my old RR it’s was a two day job (taking my time) and the parts were about £600 second hand..... so not sure I could be bothered with that again lol

On the upside all the rear end won't be knackered from towing. Always a point I look for, no tow bar.

Not always a valid assumption - a towbar may have been used to tow a Halfrauds trailer to the tip or a plant trailer with a minidigger on it.

Personally, I thing a RR looks undressed without one. 2003 Range Rover Vogue TD6

How knackered does the back end get ?

I tow a few times a year - twin axle, the nose weight is max 150kg and the trailer has its own brakes.

Over the past few years, it's only a few miles each time and no long trips, but I still need a tow bar

I don't think there's many FFRR's bought as tow tugs.

It won’t knacker the body shell, Alistair. But the amount of wear to the power train does depend on what’s been towed. Obviously towing a fully laden twin at 3500kg with max nose everywhere will wear out the car faster, but occasional use won’t make a difference.

Though RR may not often be bought to lug mini diggers about, they can be seen towing horse boxes and caravans. But again not normally an everyday experience.

They are designed to take a tow bar, and even at max it won’t break the car..... you may have a scratched bumper from clumsy hitching up though.

The most stress is put on the gearbox, but regular servicing should look after that reasonably well. I’ve had tow bars on all my fatties and towed everything from a tiny trailer, through caravan upto twin axle plant trailer with my digger on it (occasionaly) and never had an issue. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
