TDV8 Vogue 58 plate

I have just bought the above vehicle as a non runner knowing very little about the car as it was seized by the police probably for no insurance.

When I collected it the vendors said that they had attempted to get it started and had got the dash light on and by running a wire from the starter to the battery managed to get it crancking over almost starting but obviously with the immobiliser stopping it.

I literally have just got it home and connected jump leads on it. The remote will activate the door locks but there are no dash lights at all and the key does nothing.

Can someone point me in the right direction to start fault finding? Obviously the first thing I need to do is power up the dash so that would imply that the feed to the ignition is either broken or interumpted by the cars security. Current cars

I'd charge the battery first. I've had doors unlock but no dashlights at all with a flat battery.

When you put the key in the lock I’m sure that you can hear the steering lock disengage? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

It sounds like something has been unplugged, have you been round all the cubbies and ECU compartments toncheck that all the plugs are home.

Also check the BCM module which I think is under the front seat. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Does it power up the dash with the little button on the kick panel, next to the OBD port?

Thanks went out in the pi**ing rain and found the button. Got the lights and radio on and it allowed me to close the drivers door window.

Time to break out the multimeter, and begin testing the ignition fuses and feeds, I think

Had one in this week with a faulty switch
