TD6 Starter motor location

Sorry if this sounds a stupid question - but... where is the starter motor on a TD6 as I'm damned if I can see/find mine. My starting issue is getting worse and basically I'm going to remove the starter as I'm just getting a 'click' 'whirr' sound now Sad

I'm sure it's on the N/S of engine (righthand side as you look into bonnet)

Yes - that's what I thought as the positive lead from the battery goes down there - also the other side is taken up with the exhaust and the turbo.
Does anyone have any tips on how best to remove it ? Wink

Never removed one, but usually remove the live lead and a couple of mounting bolts. A lot depends on how much you have to remove to get to it and the space to work around starter.

If nothing in the way, 10-15 minutes to remove (famous last words.........)

I'm dubious that its an easy job due to its location under the manifolds Sad
