Caravan alarm and Sky router!!

My Caravan is in my garage next to my house and the remotes stopped working so I couldn't arm or disarm the alarm. The alarm is an Autowatch 650.
After talking to autowatch they asked me to send the unit to them for repair. So I sent it off and they called me to say there was nothing wrong with it and sounded it down the phone to show me it was working.
They sent it back and I re-installed it and still it didn't work. No response from the key fobs.
At the same time the alarm stopped working my Sky broadband kept dropping out and they came and fitted a new router and signal booster along with a new wall socket.
Can you believe that my caravan alarm is working perfectly now!!!
Can anyone tell me how the Sky router can interfere with the caravan alarm?
I suppose it's all down to radio waves?
Thanks Kev.

Anything that transmits a radio wave can potentially interfere with something else that uses radio waves. Lots is done to prevent it happening, but if the sums are just right you can get cross-modulation and harmonics all over the place even on very apparently different things. My old Disco 2 wouldn't lock or unlock outside my mum's old business premises because of a small microwave transmitter on the roof, despite the key fob working on UHF.

I'd try moving the router and/or booster to a different location as far away from the caravan as possible. You might also experiment by just having 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wifi networks turned on via your router. FFRR SDV8 Autobiography

Thanks James. If it goes wrong again I'll try your advice.
I'm more of a screwdriver and spanner man. Technology baffles me. I struggle to answer my mobile Rolling with laughter
It's annoyed me that I've had my van to bits trying to solve a problem with it that didn't exist.
Cheers Kev.

It’s amazing what things can affect electronics in other things.

On our old Hilux the microwave in my Oppo’s house used to set off the alarm…… There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I agree. We have a new neighbour across the road and when someone presses their doorbell ours decides to join in!!!
