United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Autobiography SDV6 Havana

Hi Guys.

So some pictures to get your thinking caps on Mr. Green

The picture of the vehicle at the side if you zoom the shot in you will just be able to see the Brembo's.

Sorry for the bad pictures my Mrs took them while I was all over looking over her.

Yes I know there is a trim clip missing off the o/s trim under the engine bay that's being done Thumbs Up

Cheers.

I have zoomed in on this and changed the colour of the photo to make the brakes stand out and you can clearly see they are 6 pot Brembo's Very Happy Thumbs Up

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Sure that’s as it should be - the later V6 has a single airbox on the nearside.

Looking at Landrover Owner Jan 2013 it states the TDV6 is a twin turbo and in the photo on page 23 showed twin air box. They later went to a single turbo and therefore one air box. I am also pretty sure the earlier ones all had the bigger brakes

Ahh so the earlier ones have the 275bhp engine due to having the twin air intakes, which means twin intercoolers and as you say twin turbos, I guess lts the early SDV6 then.

I even asked my local dealer and they say no it has one air box, most main dealers today are pretty hopeless anyway!

Suppose as usual the later ones had the uprated brakes maybe as a option, like everything becomes a option on the later models to make more money.

Thanks.

Have you had an insurance quote for your “SDV6 L405” yet?

The garage selling you the car thought they were selling you a TDv6. You’ve posted the 2013 reg. number on another thread on this forum. If one then does a speculative GoCompare type search of that reg. number, again ‘the insurers‘ also seem to think it’s a TDv6.

JLR offered a 3.0 L405 SDV6 hybrid option in 2016.

As for what was standard and what was optional (e.g 4 or 6 pot brakes), if you email site sponsor Duckworth Parts and ask nicely for the cars’s build sheet, they might email it to you and all will be revealed Wink Thumbs Up

Might also be an idea to nail down what engine your car has with your insurance company before your drive it Wink Wink Thumbs Up

Hi Pld118.

Sorry for my slow reply.

No haven't got it insured yet as I'm not sure when I'm picking her up yet.

Definitely as you say will have to find out her build sheet I have the one off topix but not sure how good that is!

I recently had a 2016 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Hybrid and loved it soo much but just need the bigger car to be honest.

They brought the SDV6 Hybrid I think for the L405 out on 13 plates if I'm correct maybe even a 62 not sure but one of them.

Will keep you posted what I have under the hood Thumbs Up

Cheers guys.

Ross.

Different brakes have never been an option.

More likely is they where put on aftermarket, brembo used to be a popular upgrade for the D4's

Hi Forever.

I have seen another L405 V6 for sale on auto trader with the Brembo's too but maybe they were upgraded afterwards too?

Mine and thus other one are both unpainted so maybe it could have been a aftermarket dealer fit maybe?

Cheers.

Ross.

So mine is the same - its a 2013 with Brembo and twin airboxes - I'll look at my books and see what the status says, but I always thought it was a TDv6 I owned.

Hi Paul.

Ahh yes good to have a fellow twin air intake Brembo braked V6 L405 Mr. Green

I just think the early ones had maybe the first of the SDV6 engines which also went into the sport. Its hard to say really. Im sure things like the brakes being Brembo's were factory fitted but like always they cut things back to save money and make them options later on or not!

They must have more power then the standard Tdv6 with just single air intakes and standard brakes though. They have done it for a reason. Just need to get hold of some one actually from landrover not a normal dealer who actually knows what there talking about.

Yea keep us posted what yours say and if you find anything out.

Thanks.

Ross.
