I just ordered CARPLAY2air so we’ll see how it goes.

I received an email update earlier today that says they now support JLR:
“ We're happy to let you know that we are supporting Land Rover/Range Rover and Jaguar 2019-2020 now! Smile

As long as your car has factory-installed* Apple Carplay and a standard USB port, it will now work with our adapter. 👍🏼

*Apple-Carplay installed from the factory or upgraded through your dealer”

Out of interest, has anyone tried with a 2017/2018MY RR? I've got a 2017 and would be interested to know if this works.

I've tested the GoPlayAuto device in a 2018 L405 and it works fine. I haven't had a chance to test it in a 2017 model but I'm guessing it will work. Ray

So I have been using the dongle for a couple of weeks. I am very happy with it.
No issues with calls or any apps. It does sometimes have an issue connecting but a simple click under the blue tooth connection is enough to get it working (this is probably due to the fact I haven't unpaired the phone with the RR)

Waze works well as the dongle is under the centre arm rest if I am stopped by the police in Germany, I just open the lid a bit and airplay turns off so no waze running in the car with speed camera warnings. SDV8 AB MY 2020

The latest dongle software update (ver. 2021.03.06.1343, size: 8.58MB) allows getting rid of the connection screen popup! I've finally managed to add CarPlay to my car (no thanks to JLR) and I've ordered a second carplay2air dongle, as I've stolen and using my wife's one for now...

You're welcome! BTW, the upgrade is done in the car, by connecting the phone to the dongle's wi-fi and accessing the 192.168.50.2 page.
I wonder what does that media delay thing do... 2019 Vogue P400e

That was fast, this is what they sent after inquiring on the website:

About settings:

-Synchronous mode (normal, compatible):
Default: Normal mode
Normal mode: Resolve instrument panel display problems.
Compatible mode: Resolves the issue of certain vehicles not connecting to the dongle.

-Media Sound (CD, DVD):
Default: DVD
DVD: better sound quality.
CD: solves the problem of certain cars having static/playback issues.

-Media Delay (300 to 2000 milliseconds):
Default: 1000
The greater the delay, the audio is less likely to stutter. The lower the delay, the music, and album art/images will be more synchronized.

-Background mode: Some cars will go black screen after connected, so try to switch on background mode will solve it.

-GPS: Turn on this function, the adapter will then help the iPhone to obtain more accurate positioning.

About startup delay, If you set it for 5 seconds, the adapter will start the system after 5 seconds of plugging into the USB port of the car (in case some car systems do not recognize the adapter, or the adapter works only when it's replugged). 2019 Vogue P400e

To upgrade, did you use the instructions below from the website or another way?

Connect your phone to the adapter and wait until CarPlay appears on the screen.
Enter 192.168.50.2 in your browser and click “Go.”
If you see an update available, click it.
Wait until the update bar reaches 100%.
When CarPlay reappears on the screen, you’re done! MY23 D350 HSE

Yes, after CarPlay initializes, make sure your phone is connected to the carplay2air’s wifi network (should be something like LAND R-6 etc.) and on your phone‘s browser go to 192.168.50.2 where the update should be available. 2019 Vogue P400e

My wife recently used the RR (rarely does) and paired her phone to the CPLAY2air. It now connects to her phone over my phone when we are both in the RR. I’ve checked their web site and it says it automatically connects to the last paired phone!

Does anyone know how to unpair a phone or unpair all phones?

Edited to say, wow they are quick answering questions and just came through with the answer by email:

To remove old devices, please unplug the adapter first.

Start your car and select "Cancel" when the connection appears so it doesn’t connect with your phone.
Select and hold on the desired device name.
Click “Remove.”
On your phone's Bluetooth connections list, select CPLAY2air or AutoKit (depending on the model) and select "Forget the device."
Plug the adapter back in and follow the setup instructions from the beginning. MY23 D350 HSE
