So I've finally bit the bullet

So I've lumped for a 2010 5.0l Supercharged. Over the past few weeks I've went to and fro from a 4.4 and a 5.0 and found one just at the sweet spot price wise for me (leaving enough aside to deal with most serious issues which may arise).

120k on the clock with the chains, struts and compressor done 18m ago.

12 month warranty and currently undergoing a fresh MOT.

Given my location, I've gone all in without driving her, although I've had a video tour and heard it in action - seems to idle just fine. All being well we'll meet on Saturday and have a 200 mile road/ferry trip to get home Very Happy

It's Santorini with Ivory interior (which looks in very good condition), but has been matte wrapped rather unusually - haven't decided to keep or remove.

I'm like a kid at Christmas Rolling with laughter

That's a nice looking car.

What colour is it? It looks almost like a matte blue in your pictures.

It's a matte silver wrap that's been put on it. I'll keep it on a whim, but will probably bring it back to black at an appropriate time Smile

It failed its MOT for offside rear brake pipe corrosion and a ball joint. So they're fixing that at the moment. First job for me is proper wheel alignment

Of course!! I'll probably take it easy on the way back, but I've promised the wife and kids a good old blast on it on Sunday.

Few more pics? Why the devil not...

Question... The sliding cover beside the gearbox, looks to have half of it sheared off - I'm assuming its a breakers job and just replace the panel? Can see it in pic 3 above

The cup holder cover can be replaced, it involves taking the centre armrest/cubby box out but it's not a major job.

Nice looking car, I like the matt wrap.

Dunc. The life you have is the only one you'll get; make the most of it.

Netherlands 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Santorini Black

Welcome to the 5.0SC club Smile

I'm no fan of the ivory interior, but with that matt wrap, it actually works for me. I would keep it and not go back to Santorini black. Because when going black it should be black all the way...It looks really nice and special as it is.

So new exhaust to unleash that V8 sound, and supercharger pulley upgrade next? Twisted Evil Laughing

Easy Tiger.... Rolling with laughter

First job will be new tyres if required, full alignment on the Hawkeye and a full oil and filter service.

Then side steps and then we'll look at sound and performance, not that I think I'm going to grumble over the torque or speed I'll get from it. Cool

I'm sure most on here will have seen this, but the below video was what convinced me I needed the 5.0l SC

LOL Yes that one did it for me as well. Plus the cleaner emissions. And then once driven it was a no brainer.

Ok, so we picked her up this morning and I wrote this from Cairnryan.

Couple of minor things.

The interior definitely needs a bit of a freshen up, nothing that can’t be sorted with a bit of time and some TLC. That’s not an issue.

The glovebox won’t open, this could be me missing something stupid that’s right in front of me... any advice?

And a bit of a major one, I didn’t hammer it, averaged 35mph over 100 miles and returned 22.4mpg - so far so good...THEN, I hit the resume button on the adaptive cruise about 5 miles out from the port and got a Gearbox Fault message, accelerating would see the revs go up with no power being applied. I pulled over, put the hazards on and left it a minute before it started without issue. Defo gonna have to get a service on it, but turning back at that point wasn’t an option...

Thoughts? Advice?
