2012 seats into a 2007..anyone done this?

Hi all,

Quick one I have just dropped in some lovely 2012 seats into my 2007 and the passenger and rear seats are functioning perfectly.

The driver one is dead. I have deduced the control unit in the actual seat is different - has anyone sorted this before? I’m wondering if I can swap the loom and control panel from the old one?

Thanks Current stable:

If you compare the wiring, the plug in sockets to the various functions are the same but as you have seen there are differences in the control box under the seat. You should be able to leave these in place and transfer your old control box across. I actually did the reverse and all appears to working correctly. I did make sure that i disconnected the battery before swapping. It is worth plugging in a Gap iid to see what faults are showing.

The problem I see is there is no quad lock or whatever it’s callled with the round pins connector on the new seats it seams to go to another module under the seat? I’ll have another look in the morning but worst case guess I will take the back off and swap the wires Current stable:

A Trap

Glad I saw these posts, I have a rip in one of my ivory seats and some wear so want to replace them, Land Rover are now out of stock of new OEM covers in my colour so after Covid is not a restriction on travel I can find some later seats, should be newer so less age related damage from sun and general wear. 👍

Thanks Craig did you just swap the driver insides as the passenger works?

I’ve just done the driver seat and all good Current stable:

I’ve read somewhere that even though the passenger seat will work the diagnostic equipment will not be able to communicate with it do you know if this is true?

Not a massive problem as faults should be fairly obvious Current stable:
