United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Hi all the original thread sais fact known with a brilliant write up. Problem is I have a 2010 fitted with the latest looking single view however wanted dual so I went out and brought dual view screen however they look identical except mode button sais dvd and audio button has legend showing two screens. Problem is this dual screen has part number on rear stating its a DNNS035 not 036. Any advice

My 2011 car also has a DNNS035 and has the word "DVD" on the enter button, despite it not being the DVD nav version (it has the hard drive).

You can have a HD based NAV but still have a DVD player for audio/video, my car doesn't have the DVD fitted, but it still has the markings on the head unit button Smile

I should also say, my car is a German market vehicle and it's stamped "EU" on the label on the back, the actual Land Rover part as far as I understand is: bh42-10e887-rc

Yup, my undestanding is that "1 2" image on the Audio/Video button is only there on the dual view units. So if you have that, you have dual view.

The "DVD Enter" text is there on all units, regardless of whether you have the DVD nav or not and regardless of whether your actual vehicle is fitted with a DVD player for playing back DVD's (ie: as opposed to a DVD player used for Navigation data).

And I think as the thread mentions, only the 2010 model year had the HD based nav fitted, previous to that it was DVD based.

Dual view only came in on the 2010 model year also, but obviously this wasn't fitted to all 2010+ cars, it was an optional extra.

So mine being a 2009 but with digital dash and non BMW looms. The main dealer said it was a 2010 spec probably pre registered. My head unit looks just like the one in the picture but it doesn't have the dual screen logo and the button that sais dvd on mine sais mode. So the question is I have now brought dual view one, will it work or are there additional hardware I need to get. I do have an iid tool so this might help if reprogramming is required.

Have not done a swap of this "TSD" (Touch Screen Display) as it's referred to in the workshop manual so I'm afraid I can't confirm! Sad

It'll definitely need to be coded in as I believe from reading the workshop manual all the various parts of the audio system have codes and are needing to be in sync.

I would imagine you'll be able to swap it and just re-code it without any problems, the connectors should all be the same as it's just a different screen, all the audio/video goes via the MOST bus which will be the same connector (ie: it's not like there's two connectors because it has "2" screens, it's all done via one MOST loop).

Certainly appears from googling that the rear of the two versions of the screen are the same too, so I think you're good to go... Thumbs Up

Mmm should be and if it all works then I would like to have a go at making it do android. Got a mate who is a avionics engineer and he is off work at the mo and said he would help me convert if I source parts.

Making it do Android, as in, converting the TSD for one that runs Android would be a large undertaking - there's not really any support for MOST within Android, nor the capability for Android to replicate many of the functions that the TSD does within the infotainment system.

You'd be best reading through the workshop manuals on the Infotainment section to get an idea of the setup Smile

The only kits out there which integrate with the in-car stuff do it by basically intercepting the CAN bus, reading the button press for the hangup button and then intercepting the LVDS connection to the screen and hi-jacking the output from the touch-screen display.

Systems like Naviplus do this, you solder into (or use bypass cables/ribbons now) to intercept the CAN bus, LVDS for the screen and the touch screen cable to grab the key presses. It's a significant amount of installation effort, but it does leave you with a very nice integration which also leaves the cars native functionality untouched.

Much easier than replacing the entire head unit or TSD! Smile

Just been on there website and they want £650 for kit parts., or at least I think that's the price. Is that correct. Or is that for kit and install voucher.
