Heated Seats

The heated seats on my Vogue have decided they are going to work. If I push the button the lights go on and after about a minute time out and go off.
Where do I start to trouble shoot this? Current cars

I believe the 'heated' seat set up differs slightly from the 'heated/cooled' set up, but this thread may well help you.
Think I read somewhere that a Vogue has a heated 'pad' on the base. My Westminster has heated/cooled seats & runs 2 'units' one on the back of the seat & one under the base. Have you checked the Wiki?

I take it you only have the heated seats (as opposed to the climate seats)? Do both front seats not work or is it just the driver's side? If one side works but the other doesn't then it sounds like the ecu is okay and either the back or base heater pad has broken. Don't know how easy it would be to check or replace them. Also there will be connectors for the heated pads under the seat which could be part of the problem.

Also look at this thread, think it will help:

Both seats act the same. I would have thought that a broken heater pad would only affect one seat? Was looking for a thread and couldn't find it so thank Fox.

You will be best off getting any fault codes read first. If you have a diagnostic tool, i.e. IID or similar, or can get access to one this should give you a good starter for ten.
Could be a fault with the ecu if both front seats affected.

If you need a replacement ecu, there's plenty on ebay, for example:

My passenger seat seems to work on my new car, my driver is not blowing air. New peltor I suppose. Heated steering works a treat. 2009 TDV8 3.6
