Sudden heavy stearing

My wife was out driving the fatty today, an as she entered a raundaboat the stearing wheel was wery heavy/stiff. I have asked hear if the engine stopped, she say no.
She stopped shortly after, and after her shopping round, al was normal again.
Have been out for a test run, al seems normal. Have anyone heard of simmilar things in this cars? 2007 tdV8

Scotland 2017 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Corris Grey

My 2004 4.4 got heavy steering when the power steering pump was failing, but not so on/off. But tight lower speed turns would be where one would notice it most.

I assume you have checked tyre pressures? Again with that car when I had to drive for some distance with a flat Goodyear MT/R on one side at the front it steered fine most of the time, but slow and heavy on tight turns. The sidewalls on those tyres were strong enough to stand that, it might not be the same with more normal ones.

Another possibility might be a brake caliper sticking. That also happened on that car, when the pads had recently been changed and presumably the corroded outer section of the caliper piston pushed back in. Only Range Rovers since 1988

This happened on my Jaguar when battery was low, not sure if it's applicable to the RR. 2009 Range Rover Vogue 3.6TDV8, Bournville, Parchment/Navy

Thank You all for response. Tyre pressure ok.
Breake caliper, yeah, maybe. Have heard noise from right front one couple of times.
Will take a closer look.
Battery voltage was a little low at 12.1V before I started for test drive.
Will put charger on as a matter of c.
By the way, book say to disconneckt battery from car, before charging.
Never bothered with that on any cars I have owned? But this is by far the most complicated car I have owned.
Think I'l do that. What do You do when charging.

Presume you've checked the power steering fluid level?

My wife said there came a message in the info senter in the speedo, but unfortinally, she's not that used to reading English, and she was rather stressed trying to get thru the roandaboat not hitting the curbs.
However, the car has been flawless ever since🙂
