Christmas Jobs

As usual I have work to do on my car during the Christmas break and I was wondering if anyone else is planning to do any maintenance.
I’ll be replacing the alternator, using the very useful guide in the Wiki - I’m picking up a new drive belt today. Thankfully a friendly neighbour has offered me the use of the pit in his workshop.
Hopefully I’ll be more popular than I was when I replaced the radiator on my old car on Boxing Day a few years ago Laughing 2017 Jaguar F Pace 25t Portfolio - still part of the JLR family 😀
2009 3.6 V8 (MY2010) - my first ever diesel! - now also gone Sad

I had a few tasks planned for my D4, however the parts are just running around in the system and doubtful that they will be here anytime soon. Have fun.

I might wash it and will probably top up the washer fluid as it must be getting a bit low. Very Happy MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

I have a Volvo so I will be:

making mince pies
getting all the food and booze in for the big day
get in wood for the fire
relaxing and enjoying the festive period .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

I've managed to get a pair of genuine front brake caliper kits [LR016683] for £30 so I can see why my car tries to send me into a ditch every time I brake hard. Razz

Well, it wasn’t my plan, and not a job for me, but as I’ve just started the car it shows the message “brake fluid low” and the brake pedal goes to the floor.

So no transport this Christmas 🤣

Oh dear MJD. That’s a PITA. Sounds like a line gone.

Plan for the fattie is to park it on the drive and not move it until New year. It will need booking in for a service in the new year But until then focus will be on the M3 and doing a mini service, oil change and reset.

The Mrs car also needs a service so that can get booked into the local friendly with a pile of bits in the new year to do, as I want the book stamping.

Other than that I will be nursing daughter 1 who has just had spinal surgery. So a busy few weeks ahead. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
