It just needed a bit of loving then, you obviously didn't spend any money on it for Valentines day and it felt neglected...

Full Fat, it doesn't breakdown it just needs loving...!!!

Ok so gone out again and!!!! no codes Shocked
car is normal again now and now i am not sure what to do?
do i just monitor over the next few day and if fine move on and it was just a blip due to the sudden change in weather ie -1 at 7pm last night and 10 when i started it first thing this morning.

or

bite the bullet and lash out almost £1k and get it done?

at the moment if it is all good over next couple of day i will change oil cooler and wait to see if it happens again.

It's almost certainly not he EGR sensor.
It's almost certainly a boost leak....

Boost leaks are very common with this engine.
You can also read up on whether you change the EGR sensor but many leave it.

As it's a 'live' error code, garages assume that is the issue. But 9.9 times out of 10 it's a boost leak

Plenty on here to read about , first stop will be your donut hoses

. Cheers, Greg

GGDR thanks it was the EGR valve as well as the temp sensor.
I have new hoses as i am due to fix the oil cooler as it is leaking.
have made the decision to carry out these repairs first and go from there as it has fixed its self so currently no error 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - Current

Jayk what is telling you the EGR needs doing?
(not saying it isn't....)

It's just that the typical EGR code is not actually in the EGR, it's in the NS (passenger UK) exhaust manifold.

Here's a guide if you haven't seen it:

https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic50202.html

An EGR clean wouldn't hurt btw.

. Cheers, Greg

This sounds like the same thing that happened to my car. EGR failed due to being covered in oil because the oil cooler gaskets had not been fixed in time by the previous owner. Caused boost leak and in the end was not drivable at all.....

New EGR with gaskets and new gaskets for the oil cooler and you should be good to go 🙏

I didn’t have any issues with any sensors tho RR Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - 11

I had x2 cpdes 1 is the sensor which has been on ages and i read the thread on here so am not worried about it.
the other code they told me referenced the EGR operation but they had cleared the codes so do not know it.

Personally i think it was more a due to the sudden weather change and the actuator on the EGR stuck temporarily.

anyhow have been out for a good drive and i have booked a day off work to do the oil cooler and have a good clean up + i can add some lube to the actuator on the EGR and fit new hoses and stuff.

I have a new scanner on its way too. 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - Current

If you was going to pay 1k for repairs but was also going to do the cooler your sel, so if your pretty handy with spanners save the 1k but a decent reader buy the cooler gaskets and see how you go with the egr using your new reader.
