Fair enough, photo's can give a false perspective sometimes - do you have some stub drills? I find they're better for getting the cut started as they put less side load on the guide, once a couple of millimetres in past the 'point', that's when I change to a longer fast flute bit - they tend to form chips rather than lots of long swarf so take the heat away from the cutting face quicker.

Yep, nice job on the extraction - looking at the size of the torque wrench, you should be OK but watch out for going over limit when using the angle setting, I lent my small one to another tech a while back, he was doing 30Nm + 180deg. the wrench was rated at 35Nm and the +180 took it into 'fault' territory... it still passed calibration checks but had an annoying 'E1' every time it was turned on.
