Topped up AdBlue, still telling me to top up?

Hi all, newbie here.

17 Plate 3.0 TDV6 Vogue, got the 'Refill DEF required' message came up. Bought 10l and topped it up, reckon it took about 4l to fill up. Service indicator was saying 621 miles to DEF service when I did this. This was 3 days ago and I've probably only done about 20 miles since the top up. Its still telling me to top and now its down to 541 miles to DEF service.

What have I missed?

I had the same problem with a 2016 D4. LRA sorted it out with a software update. Important, as it wouldn’t have started if I’d left it.

What is the capacity, surprised it only took 4 Ltrs. The sensor says it is below X and only resets when absolutely full, its not like a fuel tank. Try filling up again. letters not necessarily in the right order

Yes, airlocks seem to occur every time despite trying my best to fill it up smoothly. That's when parked on level ground. I did hear that if it's parked on an incline, it's even harder to fill up.

Hopefully that's the problem anyway. Thumbs Up

Its worst of all if you park it on an incline with the back of the car pointing up hill!

Got a load of the proper screw in bottles off of tinternet, much more than the 10L tubs but much easier to fill.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I’m sure they do Stan, but suppose it depends on how far you drive between services.
Mine would probably have reached to the service but the OCD kicked in.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Mine drains its tank from full in 6,000 miles, so it's less than half way to a service, but it's not far off the current oil change interval Sad

According to the doomsayers I may not be able to drive into cities in the future but at least I don't have to worry about this stuff in the present. Geoff
