right hand brake light

i have a 2012 4.4 vogue se and the righthand brake light has stopped working.
i was just going to order a new one and thought before i do fork out i better do some checks.
first i removed the light assembly and found what was earth, i then made every terminal live one at a time and all the lights worked, indicator, fog, tail and brake.
i then checked the feed from the loom and there is no live(purple/yellow cable) coming into the light with the brake pedal pressed.
has anyone else had this problem
thanks

Hi after not getting any replies and being without a car for a month and half I took it to an auto electronics and apparently it was the tow bar electrics shorting to earth and spiked the bcm.
Bypassing the bcm and all working now

Thanks for the update - very grateful. Did you change the BCM or just bypassed the the tow bar electrics? Thanks

My bcm is in the fuse box in the dash and not under the passenger seat overwise I would of changed the bcm
