Advice on this l322 please.

Good afternoon everyone.
I have seen this below on the bay and wondering if it might be worth a look. It says that it has had its turbos replaced and a gearbox service.
I know it has a few marks on the body but that’s not an issue for me.
Any thoughts we be appreciated.

Rolling with laughter I can only provide facts, it’s up to Jonny if it’s any use 🤣

Looks like it’s had what was necessary though, to get through the MOT, other bits are just bargaining tools really.

Looking at the history on the above post, I would ask the seller WHEN the turbos and gearbox service work was done, who carried out the work, are all receipts available to see. Was the gearbox given a full flush, were all the other small parts changed etc. Could be he has been upgrading the vehicle condition ?

Stuff like brake pads at less than 1.5mm left Shocked That does not point towards someone keeping an eye on things. I would have A LOT of questions about this car, just be wary.

Noted that you joined this site in January, Would this be your first Range Rover purchase?
Do you carry out your own maintenance ? If you do not do your own work / do not know these cars, I would say that the minimum precaution to take would be an independent RR specialist vehicle inspection, before you take a risk.

Last point to make, I find it annoying when a seller tries to list all the Range Rovers features, and tries to tell you how good a car it is, at the end of the day, this car has the standard spec. The seller is also selling a bloody big twin axle boat trailer, lots of towing ? launching into the sea? If you look at what the advert for selling the boat trailer there is a bloody huge boat on a similar trailer in the back ground, could be why he had no brake pads left if he is towing this stuff for work - more questions to ask.

Completely agree with this. I did see he was selling a boat trailer and that made me wonder.
It would be my first l322 (had a e reg classic, disco 2 v8 and a few comp safari racers). In terms or work I would do the simple things oil changes etc but any engine out jobs would be out of the question as I don’t have the tools. I understand that at this age and price there will be gremlins but hoping the gearbox and engine would be solid enough

Big chunks of time where the car was off the road too, or wasn’t Mot’d....

There are quite a few questions to ask re history, looking at the MoT history there are pretty much advisory’s/fail every year and several chunks where the MoTs expired.

Bit of damage to the NS front wing which needs sorting, rear arch bubbling, yes it’s pretty cheap, but as above, unless you are confident to pick up faults etc on viewing, then take an expert with you. There could be some spanner if needed to get it spot on. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Think the Td6 would be a better buy, ( out of the two so far ) albeit less power and a bit slower. But good history. Engine has only covered 64K, so it's just run in Rolling with laughter

I would not wish to accuse the seller of the first one you posted of anything , he could be 100% honest, he does quote his phone number and also welcomes e-mail enquiries, but there are too many alarm bells going off for me on that one. I would want to ask a lot of questions and get it fully examined, may not be easy as it looks like it is his daily driver.

Good luck with buying your ideal FFRR

Nicely spotted Andygriff, did not think of checking Carzana, will bear that in mind for future use. Thumbs Up

I have used them to buy mine Merchy they list recent sales history and previous prices also pictures the sellers have used. The seller as you say could be genuine but he conveniently left that picture out from the listing!!
