United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 V8 Santorini Black
update satnav to google?

Hi Guys only just bought my car 3 weeks ago, Loving every minute of it but no idea if its L322 or what.

Its 4.4 TDV8 2011 Autobiography.

Had FR2 for few years until I wrote it of in Feb.

Question is, the satnav is VERY outdated some roads not on it. I'm in the UK, is it possible to update / swap the media side and install android onto the screen and keep the functionality of rear cam and headrest tv's?

Even if I could cast my mobile to the screen or install google maps to it?
Is this possible? If not no worries.

Love the car to bits but wish satnav was better

Yes you can. It won’t be cheap though but has good reviews. Get a naviplus unit from Australia.

Thanks for that but after reading https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic56823.html

It looks very complicated and I would have to pay someone to do it, probably looking at £1000+ to buy and install, took years of persuading wife to let me buy this, don't think she would agree to an extra £1k within the 1st month of owning it.

I am fortunate that everything in my car works, the guy who sold it to me, lost £17k in selling to me and also spent £14k on it in the 5 years he owned it, so hoping no issues for at least a year.[/quote]

Well that is the only option Wink And I agree all is good but that part. It lets the car down.

Welcome & yes, it's a later model L322.

Mine's an L405, but I gave up with maps & instead just mount my phone in the right place & use Waze on that.

I'm in Peterborough at the moment if you want take a look ?

an alternative to Alistairs phone suggestion is a dedicated aftermarket sat nav [garmin, igo etc] mounted on the vents or a brodit mount.. ... - .- -.

Naturally upgrading the in built system has many more advantages than just accurate maps; for one it is integrated Wink Having a nice luxury vehicle with already two perfectly good screen to then have wires and additional screens mounted is not right in my opinion. But more importantly, music and phone calls. The single line of what you are playing in music is a bit pathetic when you have two big screens there. Having Apple CarPlay or Android Auto would transform that experience. And then there is the phone calls themselves for a full hand free experience. Not only is it more stable than the old system and antennas that were in there as stock, it also remains properly integrated thus music mutes or lowers, as do Satnam instructions, screens switch to the correct view and so on.

I don't think anyone would argue - an integrated system is clearly best. However, the cost and effort involved in attempting to do that is often not justifiable - and usually still doesn't result in a seamless integrated experience....

It has been great after I received the correct parts Smile It took me a couple of hours the second time to dismantle it. It would definitely be better if they supplied better instructions. But other than that it is great and seamless. Just have to have my phone on my in my pocket (or in my wife's case in her handback) and it is just complete awesomeness. Same as in our MY2021 BMW M2C. Thumbs Up

From another website, this is something I never want to see in my car!! and way to expensive to get professional to fit and buy it. This must be 2010 as has gear stick not dial?

Thanks does that clip in place or you had to screw in. If its any good to you, I bought a phone holder that sits in the cd slot, been great in my last 2 cars but as no CD slot in this car, I have no use for it, clips in and sits in CD slot, throw in glovebox when not in use. Maybe swap you for yours?

Mines a Brodit one - they have custom clips for each vehicle - then attach whatever phone holder you like

This is the one for the L322 - https://www.brodit.co.uk/brodit/vehicles/L...654085.htm

It’s just a mount, so still needs a phone holder, but will fit perfectly and cause no damage when removed.

I’ve added a holder that includes wireless charging, so all I need to do is put the phone in place and don’t have to plug it in.
