Bonnet boot lettering template solutions? L405

I’ve ordered Powerful UK bonnet and boot RR lettering.

Someone said the Powerful supplied template is based on a RRS and isn’t much use (by my reading).

What tips/ alternatives are there for a good template please including making your own please?

Thanks 🙏

Cut the template between each letter then place over existing letters before removing them. Tape template back together in new spacing- hey presto, perfect spacing. Current:

The Powerful UK front and rear letters and template arrived 48 hours after being ordered (£48 incl delivery). Good quality letters 👍🏻

The templates front and rear are both marked L405 on the template, not RRS.

The supplied rear lettering template spacing seems identical to the letter spacing that’s on our existing tailgate lettering.

The supplied front lettering template is identically spaced to our existing lettering but for the last two letters (ie the E and the R). They’re half a centimetre or so out when the new template is overlaid with the existing lettering, but… the main dealer actually replaced our front bonnet lettering 3.5 years ago and I wonder if maybe they didn’t space the last two letters ‘quite so’ back then. Not a big issue either way and easily dealt with methinks Thumbs Up

Does anyone know if the Powerful UK lettering adhesive is up to the job or if I should change it?

👍🏻

Just fitted there rear range rover badge on my car because the previous owner had fitted chrome letters Rolling Eyes . Tried the powerful template over the existing letters before removing them and they were totally different to the template

So I removed the badges and the sticky glue/tape and spent about 30mins buffing the panel to remove all trace of the old letters. Then wiped the panel with the alcohol wipe supplied with the kit. Had about 5 attempts at fitting the template before I was happy with the positioning and managed to cover a couple of small chips. Luckily the template is not too sticky and easily fitted/removed as many times as you need

My car had been sat in direct sunlight all day so the rear tailgate was nice and warm when I stuck the letters on. I always think they stick better when heated slightly

I bought the above but it’s definitely for the RRS.

If anyone wants to buy a RRS template, hit me up. Mr. Green

Find a friendly l405 owner and do a 'rubbing' of their lettering and then use that as a template. ... - .- -.

I can imagine the scene, walking up to a RR and asking if you can take a rubbing of their rear lettering! Razz Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

So I removed the badges and the sticky glue/tape and spent about 30mins buffing the panel to remove all trace of the old letters.

Just removed mine. Soak a bit of Kitchen towel in petrol then place over the rubber residue. Leave for 2 mins then rub the glue off with your thumb. I had on thin rubber gloves. Comes off instantly. Bit of swirl remover or polish. Nothing left, then a wipe of panel wipe. Less than 10 mins start to finish
Used Dental Floss to remove letters
