5th Service Issues Found

Just had my fifth service done (80k mikes equivalent). My car was built in 2017 but has covered 72k miles now (all motorway miles) and is well looked after. The service all went well but the inspection report raised a couple of issues that I wondered whether were common or indeed something I should be concerned about.

Engine
N/S rocker cover starting to leak oil
O/S rocker cover gasket leaking oil

Steering & Suspension - Front
front castor arm bushes perished and starting to split has movement in bush

Steering & Suspension - Front
movement in front anti role bar bushes

I was surprised about the rocker cover gaskets and figured it was a bit early for bushes to go? Grateful for any thoughts from my learned forum colleagues! 2017 Range Rover Vogue V6 Diesel

Wow! Is yours a pig to drive? ie, does the front bang about from the bushes & ARB?

I would look at a second opinion personally, put her into another MD, and ask for a health check... Thumbs Up

At the 3 year service on my D4, the garage highlighted that both rocker covers were leaking and said that it was common on the V6 Diesels, fortunately it was done under goodwill from LR as the warranty had ended.

From previous experience with LR, and other brands to be fair, garages are just looking for work and it varies between this sort of thing across the board to discs and pads wear, brake hoses splitting/pipes corroded.
Second opinion advised.

I think so. With a 3 year old car I can’t see these issues occurring without a manufacturing flaw/defect. 2017 Range Rover Vogue V6 Diesel

At £2,300 for both the rocker cover gaskets you could say I also wasn’t keen Shocked

I remember replacing them on my old MG TC in about 10 mins.. Laughing 2017 Range Rover Vogue V6 Diesel

Maybe they put accidentally cork based ones in your car Razz Just like your MG may have had, or my daughter's Golf MK2 GTI definitely had...As you say, an easy job once a few bits are out of the way.

Bushes sound a bit early, wouldn't need a second opinion though, one can easily inspect yourself Wink And even more importantly notice how it drives if in tune with the car.

Really bushes are mileage dependant rather than age dependant. 72k of motorway miles may see some of them on the edge. It’s a fair old whack for a 3 year old car, but it’s still a heavy car which is at the point where they “could”require doing especially if there has been some potholey country lanes thrown in.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

OP does say it's all motorway mileage so it does seem a bit premature for these bushes to fail.
