Blank the EGRs with an ebay kit on Day 1.
If you get an EML come on then you'll also need the software patch to remove the EML.
This will prolong turbo life by reducing risk of EGR break up and ingest to engine.
I would recommend you use Bodsy and he'll do the lot all in one go. Ian Bodsworth 07770638023. Mobile out of Telford.
Also does Megaflush gearbox oil changes. Get that done too to prolong life.

Thanks,

Are these blank able - see conflicting opinions. I know i need to map out once done.

Does the facelift have a DPF if so is that an issue with Blanking ?

In terms of the general vehicle. - rust - arches and boot lid - check suspension raises and lower etc

Check hi and lo ratio

What else?

Does a normal code reader read codes? I.e. torque app and an OBDII reader?

Thanks in advance

K

In terms of turbo replacement, if it goes south, how much are they to replace?

I know the RR sport needs the body off and is 3.5 k (so i read)

How is the FF ? Can the turbos be replaced via the wheel arches?

I’m in the same boat as you, from what I’ve read turbo replacement is between £2.5-£3.5k on the FFRR and you’ll get a mix of people quoting for doing in situ and bigger strip down.

Also the other recommendation I’ve had is replace the hoses with silicone ones, I seem to recall they can be sourced via roverlord and probably a fair few others (c.£95).

What I don’t know is if turbos /EGR fail what are chances the engine is destroyed?

When viewing, open the rear left cuddy box in the boot area and make sure it is bone dry. Water leaking into this area can cause damage to a lot of electronics which are expensive to repair/replace.
Check all the carpets are dry, if not it could simply be a blocked sunroof drain but if it’s been wet for a while it could lead to further problems.

3.6 can be blanked. 4.4 much more difficult and not a DIY job.
Only 4.4 has a DPF standard but a 3.6 might have had a DPF as an OPTION. Get underneath and you'll see it as well as the catalyst. 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Check all the rear wheel arches for rot
Check for oil leaks underneath

I think the facelifted 2010 MY 3.6 had a DPF as standard.

Re DPF, mine is a 2010MY first registered in September 2009 and doesn’t have a DPF.
I’m not sure at what stage they fitted them to the face lifted 3.6 but it wasn’t straight away Thumbs Up 2017 Jaguar F Pace 25t Portfolio - still part of the JLR family 😀

That’s what i am hoping

The car looks brilliant and I’ve a good chat with the seller, he sounds like a proper gent and the car appears very well serviced and has had some recent repairs so the signs are good.

It’s top spec and looks beautiful.

If i spend 5k over the course of the next 2 or 3 years it’s money well spent IMO
