Hi All,

developed a crack in the windscreen on Saturday and now need a replacement (has a 6 inch crack in it).

All covered on th einsurance and National Windscreen want to come out tomorrow to fit a replacement. When questioned they said they don't use an official LR one but one supplied by Pilkington. Apparently the same one that goes to LR (But who knows.?)

Should I be insisting on a LR replacement or doe s it not really matter?

The LR ones are made by Pilkington.

You should ensure that they are sending you one for use with a rain sensor though! Oh and if you've got the blue/green banding at the top of the screen. Finally make sure it's heated. 

Great - I asked for the one with the Light/Rain sensor and also heated screen anyway. Also told them the car has "Green" glass so hopefully it will be correct.

I just can't remember if mine has a green "sun strip" along the top. It probably has though.

I didn't tell them about that (as I couldn't remember). Should I call them back to confirm or is it likely to have it anyway as I told them it has green glass? Ash
