Must be water ingress, back on working on mine, been sitting on axle stands for 4 weeks, saw this and thought I had better check my spare - bone dry. |

Check for water ingress. Lots of sources ...top tailgate hinges, tow bar bolts into x member, seals etc. It can take a long time to find. Be methodical.

Unlikely to be down to the compressor, it doesn't usually work for long unless you have a leak.
