Scotland 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Santorini Black
My unicorn 4.4 TDV8.

Long time lurker, first time posting.

i've had a 4.0 P38 for 7 years now and have been looking at the L322's on and off for some years. More recently, I've been really hankering for the 4.4 TDV8. It would become my daily(ish) and be used or annual trips to Spain and back. For that reason, I had a set of "must haves" like RSE and the cooled seats. Then the usual 'would be nice' like deployable steps, certain colour combo, etc. (i.e. no beige/cream leather, nothing that's been modified, etc)

I found such a Unicorn 2 months ago and kept the page on my phone loaded - i'd check in on it every few days until yesterday when I decided that yes, I definitely want it and i'm going to buy it. I called the guy today to be told he sold it last week. I'm genuinely quite devastated by this.

I've been scouring motors.co.uk, carandclassic, ebay, pistonheads, autotrader and I can't find one with the same spec (or as close as) for the same money.

This is the car I had wanted to buy: https://euro-uk-motors.com/2021/07/05/rangeroverwestminster/

Anyone aware of any Unicorns like that for sale for around the same money? Seems difficult to find this car with the proper RSE, cooled seats and not in Grandad spec colours Sad

Don't have any unicorns handy but I would suggest that you don't make the RSE a deal breaker - it is 10 year old tech by now and you can do much better with a couple of tablets mounted on the back of the seats. Cooled seats are nice, but again, if the right car (in all other ways) comes up without them I would suggest you can live without them. Much more important to have a well looked after car in my opinion than a less well looked after car with cooled seats (or RSE!)

Good luck with your search. Bish.

Yeah I can understand that but I guess because I've been waiting for so long and have now decided to go for it, I don't want to 'settle'?

You might have a point with the RSE but I think something 'factory' is better than the tablet or aftermarket type especially being able to control it with the control. As for cooled seats.. I had them in my previous Saab and they really were excellent on longer journeys, made such a difference to the otherwise betty swollocks.

Just kicking myself I waited too long to get that one listed as it literally was everything I wanted (bar, maybe, an ivory leather).

Big fan of the cooled seats.

But RSE is outdated tech now, have had kids since my early td6, it had rse, dvd & PS1 ! My 405 doesn’t have but an iPad is so much better tbh, mounts don’t look so cack these days, I have a nice carbon fibre mount , the iPads are much bigger than the rse screens , downloading content etc. too .

Each to their own though Thumbs Up

Maybe the RSE is something I should cross off the list then...

The only way to grab a bargain is to be the first to see it. Reasonably priced or under priced cars that remain unsold for a long time do so for a reason.....
Reckon you should up your budget to £15k in the current marketplace as well or wait until it cools off but that may be another year at least. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

RSE was a £2500 option.

I’d reiterate needing to act very quickly in the current market - I picked up a 2009 5.0 SC yesterday that was advertised late Sat night and I’d agreed a deal & bought by 8am Sun. morning - the chap said he’d been inundated with interest & offers in the meantime.

I've been looking for a while too. The one you linked to did seem quite cheap and had a lot of miles.

The spec looked fairly standard westminster apart from the RSE, which as others have said is old tech now. You can do so much more with an ipad, and it works outside the car.

The elec side steps would be nice

The spec of the run out Westminster tends to sit between Vogue and Vogue SE if that helps any.

I've discovered in many ways that once you go past Vogue spec, the variation on options is vast so can't take any model/trim level as having XYZ, if that makes sense?

But you can see what is standard in the specs, for eg, if you def want adaptive cruise, it’s standard on Vogue SE…. If you see what I mean….

Cooled seats are now on my must have lists as well, they are superb for so many different scenario’s! RSE is certainly a nice to have but I’d have so many other things above it now, HUD, Remote Park etc. Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
Previously George a 2007 MY07 Java Black VSE 3.6 TDV8
Previously a 04 MY04 Defender 90 Sad
